Barrie on a 1 year

Created by: Austin_Cashews
Team: 2020-21 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 16, 2020
Published: Jun. 16, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Could Barrie be a fit for 1 more yr to partner with Reilly combined with ideal coaching style? Maybe he would want one more yr to increase his value for the yr after next, since this last season had a slow start for him ? Also I'm not sure how to get rid of Johnson without taking back salary so this is my attempt :p .... Are these even trades/ do trades ever work

These three trades are awful you didn't put much thought into them.

Also, Barrie isn't signing a one year deal.

I'm finding more and more resources as i go and hopefully getting a little better- you wanna see bad check out my first couple from a day ago lmao

If Barrie wants to sign a 1 year deal to rebuild his value there are MUCH better teams to do it with than Toronto. For starters he'd want to go somewhere he could be the defacto PP QB.

Teams like Winnipeg, Calgary, Detroit, Montreal, Ottawa, New Jersey, Anaheim, Arizona, Edmonton, or LA, would be much better fits. Heck even Colorado would be a more attractive place for him despite getting traded away, as it's a place where he has friends, where he knows he can be successful, and where he could contend for the cup.

Are all of those teams looking to replace their 1st line D ?? (Thats legit an honest question not being sarcastic) and I honestly believe the leafs could contend with this lineup and coaching, they will hopefully have more guys uninjured next round and were performing pretty well in that stretch considering some wonky goaltending before getting campbell

And no reason he couldn't qb 1st PP , Reilly could take #2 both would be fine me thinks

Not all are necessarily looking for a 1st pair RHD, but I think most of them would have a need for him to drive the offense and be their PP QB.

I suppose Barrie could fit as the PP QB, but given that it hasn't really happened for him this season I would think that he'd rather take his chances elsewhere.

In any case, I vaguely recall seeing quotes from him recently basically alluding to the fact that he's leaving. And Dubas also said something along those lines too. Looks like he's going.

Hahaha darn - I just finished take 2 of that with maybe more realistic trades - good points he prob could get a better opportunity and deal the leafs are getting tight on money lol
