You'd have to go back to Gaudreau's rookie year when he didn't lead his team by points and he was freakn 21. Every other season he led, usually by 10+ points. Gaudreau drives his team, drives his line, Konecny does neither, not even close. Again, Konecny is great, he isn't Gaudreau though.

I'm not undervaluing JG, I'm just saying Philly isn't gonna trade a guy who out-produced the other, is younger, with a cheap contract on a long term. CGY would have to ask for someone else.

He outproduced him ONCE in an unfinished season. Konecny is 3 years younger, is $1.25M cheaper, and on 3 years longer. Really isn't a crazy difference when you consider how elite Gaudreau is. The only reasoning I'd understand is JG will cost more on his next contract. Idk PHI's cap enough to know if he'd fit.
