Tampa declines. DeAngelo's gonna cost more than Sergachev, and Sergachev's much younger.

No real reason for TB to consider this.

Re-signing him is very likely to cost more. He's not taking another bridge deal / prove yourself deal after the latest contract.

I think they should go for it..
Tampa is strong on LHD already but not that good on the right side, trade helps them out pretty well and AD cost more for a reason, aka hes better
Just try to shed cap upfront

I mean u would have to pay Serg $$ anyways, why not just use it on a weakness not a strength

Sergachev's likely to get a million less, probably more. TB is known to get their young guys to agree for 3-year bridge deals...almost everyone of their current team has.

I imagine this deal would only gain traction if Sergachev insists on a heavy long term deal like the one I signed him too

Sergachev's turning 22, DeAngelo's turning 25. I personally view Sergachev just getting better, but this year was such an outlier for DeAngelo I wouldn't be surprised at all if he regresses next year.

Furthermore, TB already once traded DeAngelo to ARI back in 2016. I don't think they liked him much then, so why would they like him now, with a huge expense.

Don't think that'll happen, honestly. Especially due to the covid effects.

Ah. Was lookin at them getting better on paper.. not really player issues

Don't think they'll mind an older more experienced player.. their core is with Stamkos, Kuck and Hedman anyways so as long as he isn't older then that

AD would probably have to go bridge deal.. don't think anybody would risk another Jeff Skinner deal, cap would go up later as well so he could benefit

Deangelo already took a bridge deal...think the chance of him taking another one is close to nonexistent.

I doubt Deangelo comes back to Tampa Bay. I learned the other day that he and BriseBois weren't exactly on good terms
