Severson probably costs you Kapanen plus, maybe even Nylander. Zacha scored 32 points in 65 games (40 point pace). Only 8 of those points came on the PP. Playing in a tight system behind Jack and Nico. Kid is very underrated. I feel like they’d ask for Dermott plus. Engvall is a decent bottom six guy, but doesn’t have a lot of trade value and I feel like he’s the type of guy Toronto needs to keep. SDA is the b level prospect that isn’t gonna be anything special that most Toronto fans think makes every single trade fair cause they over value their prospects. The new Bracco

I mean, can't really label a 19 year old that just had a career high in the OHL the new Bracco when hes actually good even strength and seems defensively sound. Had about the same point per game as Liam Foudy who costs an arm and a leg according to CBJ fans. Severson definitely doesn't cost Nylander but Kapanen and maybe a 2nd or 3rd probably gets it done. Dermott for Zacha is a pretty fair deal, both young solid players who have potential to grow at their position but will be more of a depth asset on both teams. Kapanen, Dermott and a 2nd (maybe an additional prospect like Hollowell) for Severson and Zacha seems relatively fair

Yes that’s roughly the trade I was proposing. I mentioned Nylander cause op’s trade had NJ retaining 2 million on Severson. SDA might be something decent, but a good year in the OHL doesn’t magically make a guy taken in the third round worth the same as a guy taken in the first round. If you guys found a special player in the third round that’s great, I think you’d want to hold onto him as he’s still a third round pick that hasn’t backed it up yet or shown anything in the NHL. His potential is higher than his current value. Lots of kids have put up big numbers in junior and gone on to be nothing more than AHL depth
