I believe we will not win the cup we are lacking to much on defence we could get a solid d next year at the trade deadline once we see our “new blue line“ in action and if matthews isn’t 100% why risk it we
have Johnson our indefinitely Tavares mind is most likely on his new born Riley may not be 100% healed I just feel like why try when we can get a franchise winger that’s Canadian that can do it all I’d rather have this huge opportunity then get beat by Tampa or Boston or Washington then come back next year healthy and hungry. Tell me ur thoughts down below I don’t want any beef

I mean even if you lose you only have a 1/8 chance at getting the pick. I think you guys will lose to Colombus anyways though, torts is such a good coach and the jackets will bully their way through the leafs. I like the skill and speed of the leafs vs the jackets, but I think that hard style might wear you out like it did to the lightning.

If the leafs win 1st overall I'd much rather have them trade down with LA. They would easily be able to get The 2nd pick and a good defenseman to play with Rielly like Walker and Roy. Byfield would also be able to replace Kerfoot and keep Johnsson who I believe is still a great complimentary player

He looks fantastic but I dont think Byfield is that far behind. You could honestly make a case for Byfield being better because of his age and how hes just such a unicorn because of what hes able to do. That size, speed, hands and shot is insane. Finding a guy who can do all that while being as physically capable as him is almost never happens. I'm extremely high on him so that may be why I'm a bit biased but Byfield plus a prospect like Thomas or a defenseman like Walker could be a huge win if Byfield reaches his full potential
