@Arlotti47 why not? Do you seriously see us contending in the next 2 years? Get a mid to late round 1st and quite possibly a top 4 rhd. Also, with the cap not moving up Vancouver might be willing to do this deal and get some cap space.

A) Yes i do. I really believe in this team more than anyone else in our fanbase. I see so much with this team. We just need a boost.

B) Backes was fine because they retained it and he isn’t that bad. Backes played pretty well with us the few games he did. I highly doubt Ericksson would do anything except help develop and lead some of the younger guys.

C) I think Murray knows what’s he is doing and he will make the right moves. I could see the Ducks maybe not contending for the cups obviously but making a wildcard maybe 3rd in these next 2 years. I have hope for this team especially with Zegras Milano Heinen and others who will impact

@Arlotti47 thats exactly what I mean by not contending. Yes playoff experience is good for an upcoming roster but reflecting on prior seasons I rather us have a legitimate chance at the cup. I also have no problem with what Murray is doing. But, I truly don't see much flaw in this deal and would be very happy if it were to take place. Although, Ericksoon would be a massive cap hit I don't see us testing the free agent market unless older UFAs don't ask for as much as they did in recent off seasons due to the flat cap. Plus, by the time the contract would be up our prospect pool would be much stronger and our roster would be relatively ready to move into another era of making cup runs. Idk just an idea and optimism. Question tho What makes you believe in our current roster so much and what is that boost? Say anything else but Zegras and our 6th pick.

Guys like Milano, Comtois, Heinen and Terry I think will make a massive affect this next year. Could see Curran and Kindopp getting time too. I just think these past two years were so called “refreshers” all the old guys ( except Getzy and Backes ) are gone and now we have our new style of play and now I think Eakins has an eye for his team after watching them for a season ( well 3/4s ). I disagree with anyone who is saying that the Ducks are rebuilding. If we were rebuilding guys like Lindholm, Getzy, Rakell, and Manson would’ve been gone this TDL. I think we just needed a fresh season to work with and get the guys some time to adjust with a new coach and the young guns.

If the Canucks aren't retaining anything, we don't have to send them Manson to make this a fair deal. We should be trading an LD like Jacob Larsson in any event.

@OldNYIfan Get the view point but thats why I have Jett woo in the deal. I think he'll be a solid NHLer and with Manson in the deal it would give Vancouver incentive to even consider doing a deal with us, a division rival. Nevertheless, I think this is a pretty fair deal that can give us valuable futures.

I wouldn't do this, Woo's ceiling is not as good as Manson rn, and we're only getting a first to take on Loui's deal...?
