Doubtful Vegas will be willing to give Korczak. You probably put him, I guess, because of the retain salary

No Montreal will be looking for a good right handed prospect in return and they have been clearly in a all in mode in recent year. Petry would be a major addition for them, they already have a great offense but have had trouble with their blueline. Petry have been a outstanding defenseman for the past 3 season ranking among the best in multiple categories. He can play big physical minutes. Vegas would extend him right away just like with Pacioretty deal.

Vegas isn’t in Montreal situation, they are a cup contender and have made move to keep that status. They have already move out Suzuki, Branstrom, and high draft pick to acquire impact players that where in their prime. They are in a all in mode for a couple more season. Their main core is in their prime so they don’t need much young prispect but more Nhl impact players at the moment just like Petry is and will be for a couple season.

Yeaaaah still keeping Korzack, I don’t want petry(to much to give up) I’d only Trade Prospects For Other Prospects, RHD still in there’s 20s Or a Dang Good Goalie(Starter Or Prospect with good potential)

But you aren’t the gm so i don’t gave a about what you think. Last time i check Kelly Mcrimmon was the gm and he have been making those kind of deal before. You own nothing and those players aren’t yours.

Ik I’m not the GM, that what I would do if i were the GM though, and you arent The GM either, Last I checked was Marc Bergevin and that Flow
I’d Rather Give Up Hague Or WhiteCloud(Idk why) for Petry, even then I would still want MTL to add if it was Hague
Still a No from Vegas,

Thats better! And i never claim that i was the owner or the Gm and that this would be the only deal that would be working for Montreal but with the way Bergevin have been doiing business he would be chasing that kind of return for Petry. I only put a suggestion not proclaiming that i own the team

I see vegas having Krebs, Hague and Glass as untouchable prospect. Korzcak, Pachal and Elvenes are very good prospect but i thibk that they are also their best chip in a trade to land a big time players.

The value seems fair but the biggest issue is VGK don't have the cap space to accommodate him. As solid as Petry is I don't think he moves the needle enough to make Vegas move a contract big enough to fit him. Theodore is becoming a stud, a lot of NHL ready rookies and honestly the narrative VGK needs a RHD is not accurate.

They actually have the money to resign him after is contract expires in 2022. Stastny come off the book and won’t be back at 6 millions, Jon merill won’t be back to and Alex martinez will probably be the only one that will get consideration for a extension. They have around 16 millions to sign 6 players with mostly depth players to sign so they have money for him.

Those are all valid points if this conversation was about his UFA year but the 2020-2021 season they have 4-5 Mil to resign Stephenson, Cousins and potentially others. They don't have the cap space.

Thise are all depth players that won’t make more then 1 or 1,5 millions they have plenty of cap space to sign Martinez and Petry to extension. They have a guys like Elvenes who will be Nhl ready and Nicholas Roy that they acquire from Carolina that will have a bigger role. They have more then enough money to sign these guy and even sign a decent backup goalie.

Elvenes is not NHL ready. Vegas has one of the weakest forward depth rookies in the league. 2 x 1.5 Mil is still 3 million.

In the end one high end defenseman isn't worth crippling their forward depth.

Elevenes will have another season in Ahl next year and will be ready to step up in 2022 season. As for the depth they can keep cousin or Carpenter they still have money for that. They have olenty of money when you know how to managed thing out.
