Description

If vancouver is tight for cash, why trade a good back up goalie that only cost $1mill. It will cost them to sign a UFA and won't be nearly as good. Keep Demko and trade picks or prospects with the bad contracts to gain cap space. If Vancouver is bad next year, try to trade Demko at the deadline for picks before losing him in the expansion draft.

I get what you're saying, but on the other hand, you really *should* only need a 1 year stop-gap to get to Mikey DiPietro (If everything goes well). Plus, what's the value in trading him at the deadline vs. now, especially if Vancouver is competitive? Do you really want to trade your backup when your prepping for a playoff run?

I said to trade him if Vancouver is bad next year. They should be competitive again next year, all the more reason not to trade him.
