No freaking way is Yzerman eating half on Vrana for 1.5 years and 50% on Karlsson for 4.5 years. We don't need that much dead money with Larkin and Raymond and Seider needing new deals.</div></div>
We have a lot of cap space and young players on ELC, is fours years of 5.5mill for Wright that much of a concern?

That’s a possibility, but Hronek gives them a RD, Vrana could be really good, and a first round draft pick isn’t that bad..

Exactly might point diehard, MAJOR SWEETENERS! Like a first ++ or Walstrom/Dobson!! What else do they have to offer?

And that is perfectly fine to bury him in the minors. All I’m saying is don’t expect anyone one of these teams to take his contract without a huge sweetener.

I agree they probably won't move there best prospects, but they are serious about moving guys like Loui and Boychuk, they will be giving multiple draft picks. If it only takes a third to move Komarov and Perreault they would have done it weeks ago. They are trying to sign Barzal and you think a third round pick is what stands in the way?

I see your point, but we needed a veteran LHD. The Staal trade was before free agency and now seeing how everything is playing out, I'm not sure Stevie does that trade. Anyway, that was then, this is now!

YG's contract is way to expensive and long for the wings to accept. Yes he makes them better, but not worth the couple wins he gets us. Would rather compete with the players we have and get a good draft pick next year, then fill out the roster with players.

Potential Roster What are your thoughts
I think the kids will get a chance at the deadline. Stevie will try and trade any and all UFA contracts(Ryan,Glennie, Fil,etc) at the deadline even if we are competing for the playoffs. At that point guys like Veleno and Ras will have played the entire season in Europe and about 20-30 games in the AHL before being called up.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Docbyars</b></div><div>I could see a couple of the European players starting in the AHL but if they continue the tear they're on right now I could see them start. Svech I excluded as either taken in the expansion draft by Seattle, or not resigned. I sure hope that he plays well enough to be kept around or that he doesn't get taken.
And I don't think Veleno will be ready at this point, he would have to tear it up in Europe and have a massive training camp to make it. But I would love to be proven wrong.</div></div>
With the AHL starting in Feb all the guys in the SHL will play the entire season over there and come straight over to the AHL or NHL. IF the wings are terrible expect most of the signings to get traded and some of the prospects make the jump to the NHL.

Is cirelli a 2C. There is debate Larkin is a 1C. I would rather try to get that 1C in this draft with the 4th pick, Larkin move to 1B/ 2C (How ever you want to call it), and Veleno 3C. I don't see tampa moving serg. He is the real deal!

What makes Marner tradable
In floridas case, you would trade marner for picks in the offseason. They won't want to pay him 9mill. I am very interested to see what arizona and florida are going to do. They are in terrible markets, do they sell off and start a rebuild?

Is Marners Salary paid already for 20-21 as a signing bonus. If so, your idea might work for team like florida. Marner for Huberdeau, less cap hit for Toronto and no salary cost with a big cap hit for florida.

If Liligren, Sandin and Lehtonen step up, Toronto shouldn't have trade any of the major pieces. Its going to be interstesting to see what all the teams do with flat cap and expansion draft coming up. Unfortunately our teams have to wait another two months!

I don't see Toronto getting all that for Nylander. There just aren't that many teams that can take on Nylander's contract. I think what ever trade they decide to do, they will be giving up more. No one is going to help Toronto out of cap troubles and that was proven with the Marleau trade last year and the Kadri trade. Look how bad that Kadri trade is going to look if you let seatle take kerfoot for free.

Matthews had Johnsson and Nylander as linemates last year and sports analysts could tell something was wrong with his game. His numbers were falling and his analytics were going down. Everyone agreed Babcock should try pairing him with Marner to see if things would improve, Babcock didnt do this but keefe did and the results were instant.
In general upon being paired with Marner Matthews saw a dramatic improvement. Hyman-Matthews-Marner is one of the best lines in the NHL and it would be dumb to split it up.</div></div>
I agree with what your saying, Marner is a great player, but Matthews still had over a point per game and 37 goals. Its alot easier to give a up goal then to score one. If you trade Marner it gives you a little extra money to sign or trade for a Dman.

I don't think the money is the issue, his 11mill cap hit is the issue. You could place a 4/5mill player on the right of matthews and he will still score 40 goals.

New Jersey has absolutley no cap issue and so do other teams. Look at Detroit, their issue is not the cap, their issue is that half of their roster is not good enough to play in the NHL</div></div>
Your right, new jersey doesn't have cap space, so why trade a 1st rounder when they can pick up 3rd/2nd line players in free agency. Your also right about the wings players, half of them wouldn't make an AHL team....LOL
