Anaheim would be crazy not to do that trade if Nashville offered it. Kesler's contract is poison.

Just a prospect for Fowler? Top 4 D man with skill on a good contract would be a steal imo. Still Anaheims forward depth is ugly. In the playoffs they were playing Ryan Garbutt on the top line. And with Hulder and Pirri and others available Anaheim adds Boll! Good luck with that bottom 6.

Most underlying stats point to the fact that Fowler is in over his head possession wise, and his point totals are padded nicely with ample PP time. I don't think they'll get the moon for him. The other reason for the return I chose is that Anaheim is up against the cap (plus they usually have their own internal cap they like to be at).

I just feel like Anaheim has to get a proven player back. As a Rangers fan I would do a trade of either Kevin Hayes or Oscar Linberg for Fowler.

Fowler is just too valuable to Anaheim when it comes to breakouts and getting the puck out of trouble. He's the best defenseman on the roster at getting the puck out of the defensive zone quickly. I can't see them giving him up without getting a roster player in return. Despite what the fancy stats say, he's just too valuable to the back end.

Kesler doesn't wave, Anaheim wouldn't ask him to, and the Fowler trade is crap
