I like Brown, but I think he has less value than Puljujarvi. Russell + 3rd certainly has more value than a 6th. I'm not sure what you're trying to do here, shoehorning an AHL player into 3C when he couldn't grab a roster spot on a much worse team last year.

He’s obviously not ideal. He’s not good enough to play 3c but I don’t think Sheahan is either. It would be more of a split like this year where Ennis-Brown-Kassian get more offensive time. I do think Brown deserves a roster spot and can quickly develop into a 3c.
The thing about Russel is that there is so little cap space to go around this year, that I think we have to pay something to get rid of him. Puljujarvi is worth more than Brown so adding Russel and maybe lowering the pick would get the deal done I think. Anyways, it’s just an idea, Oilers are one of the few teams with options this off-season.
