Bring JVR home

Created by: hockeymanG23
Team: 2016-17 Philadelphia Flyers
Initial Creation Date: Aug. 31, 2016
Published: Aug. 31, 2016
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Really doubt it would be enough to bring JVR back and dump MacDonald but a guy can dream!

Not rushing the young D either and signing in a cheap RHD to let Gostisbehere roam on the 3rd pairing.

No way Toronto takes MacDonalds awful contract. I wish they would but I doubt anyone will.

Ya I know you through in some good assets but were not gonna take MacDonald's contract unless Provorov is involved and even still, we're clear of all our bad contracts in 2 years and we would love to keep it that way

Yea, the Leafs don't have the stomach or cap to take McDonald. Maybe the Flyers will wait two years to sign JVR as a UFA, although I think he is going to be Nash's replacement in NY.

Thing I dislike about the Flyers organization is that they promote incompetence instead of firing someone. Holmgren wrecked this team and made the worst trade in Flyers history (schenn for JVR) now Hextall has to try and fix this mess. I like JVR but I don't think he is the answer to our problems.

I like the thought of trading Sanheim since he will probably be a lesser Provorov. Sanheim in a package should get us the top 6 winger we need.

MacDonald should just be written off and bought out next summer.

Check out the team I made earlier today. I think we can get something without giving up a Sanheim/Morin/Provorov

Try to being a Leaf fan for the past 40 years. Might be a total 10 years of management/ownership competence.

No way to ditch a bad contract without a young stud going the other way, recent similar NHL trades solidify that notion

What about swapping out Gudas for Macdonald? Or does that favour the Leafs too much?

No, Gudas is our only rhd. Sanheim, MacDonald Laughton and a pick should be plenty.

But MacDonald won't be going (again unfortunate) I would be OK with Sanheim, Laughton and two 2nds. Gives the Leafs a very good D prospect, a solid 3rd line C,LW and couple solid picks.

Like DirtyDangles said, Gudas is the Flyers only RHD. Plus he has a better contract than MacDonald, is more reliable and much more intimidating as well.
