Why do so many people want Nichushkin? He hasn't proven anything other than he is the typical Russian who if he doesn't get his way will likely bolt to the KHL. Looks like he could be a bust to me. Just my opinion.

So, Karlsson makes 6.5m a year for the next 3 years, Phanuef who the Sens traded for....makes 7m a year for 5 years. Gee, I guess Karlsson isn't their # 1 Dman. Soon, very soon, Phanuef's contract is going to look really bad.

Agree with your assessment of Nichushkin. Why is it so many guys coming off their RFAs contract are paid like near super stars? McKinnon, Jones, soon to be Trouba. Just brings up the salaries and worth (in their own minds) of young average guys like Nichushkin.

One of the better Karlsson trades I've seen for sure. We aren't taking back a load of salary, and we get someone who can replace his position.

That said, I don't think there's any trade that would make me part with Karlsson. He's one of the best defensemen of the last 50 years. I can't even believe people would consider trading him.
