For sure, just about any team would, they'd be dumb not to, because at the very least they could flip him at the deadline for a much larger return. Obviously the OP was just trying to clear cap space, I doubt the Flames would move Ryan for that low of a price.

I think I have accomplished a bit here. It is suppose to be simple a but a bit of upgrades. Faksa is an underrated 2c who will most likely fit in Calgary's defense system. Backlund is a solid 2c but is an elite 3c. Thats why flames fans want a 2c so badly. Lias Andersson I think still has a lot of upside

Radek Faksa is not really a 2C though, he has a career high of 17 goals and 33 points. Really strong defensive player though.

If Gorton can move Lias for Kylington, good for him! And that would basically complete the NYR defense.

Bruins won’t have the cap room next year. Flat cap.

But Ryan is serviceable for other teams no doubt.

Wouldn’t count on Faksa being your long-term fix at the 2C spot, but he CAN play the position until you get your true 2C.

Think of him as Jankowski 2.0. What Jankowski does for a Calgary, Faksa will do a little bit better.

Personally, the deal is fine, but if I’m Dallas I’d probably look for more of an offensive piece than Jankowski. The whole reason Dallas an trade Faksa is because we have smart defensive Centers like Dickinson & Dellandrea that can take his spot. Jankowski would be kind of redundant for the Stars.
