Dont trade Ryan, dont sign Hamonic and Gus isnt signing that for that long. No need for Simmonds just give Gawdin a chance

Gus might cost more, but he's an investment worth making. Third d-pair with a good partner and time on PP1 and I honestly think he could be back to 40-50 points easy. Haven't watched too much of Calgary but from what I've seen, he's back to his 18-19 form

That's an option too, although I think one of the reasons Chicago's defense was so atrociously bad the year Gustafsson went off was because he was getting so much ice time on the top pair with Keith. Obviously he was outstanding in the OZ and in transition, but he's not good defensively and probably never will be. So maybe Gio can carry the load in that situation and that pairing can work really well. But I do have concerns about giving a guy is is flat-out bad in his own zone 20-22 minutes a game in all situations. In fairness, I thought he was a bit better this year when he was in Chicago, but his role was reduced, especially once Boqvist came up.

But like I said, I think he really fits in Calgary and they'd be smart to keep him. They'd make a fan out of me for doing it too lol

I'm not sure I would ever include Hanifin in the sentence "better defensively"
