Description

2 things to consider here:

1. Do you want to keep Petterson who'd play on your third pair for more than 4 million a year? I don't think so. Barrie would instantly upgrade this top 4 to one of the best in the NHL. He might also help to solve the stupid PP problems this team is having as of late.

2. Though Horny's Cap hit bites us in the back this year, he'll probably be kept as he seems to be the logical expansion draft choice from the Pens perspective.

Additional thought: I'm not convinced they really want to let McCann go because of his abysmal playoff performance. But unless he is signed to a reasonable contract (which is below 3.5 million) they should let him walk or in that case trade him to the Sens who could use some young but experienced players.
