Stone is in the midst of his prime he still has about 4 more years. If you are playing for win now (which most teams are) you take the player that's better now, not in 5 years.

I mean most aging curves suggest prime for forwards is 24-27, at least points-wise. Marner is about to hit that. Of course points aren't what make Stone valuable I'm just saying Marner makes way more sense if you want to contend for 3-5 yrs.

no hes not, he was 2 pts from PPG and is the best defensive winger in the game

Well obviously this is his prime, but if you are a team that has a 5+ yr window vs a 2 or 3 yr window Marner is the better option. Stone is in my opinion the best 2-way player on the planet and might be the best RW on the planet but aging changes everything.

Hes 28 he has 4-5 years left of elite offense and even more of elite defense
