Minor Changes For Next Game

Created by: JJHaberman
Team: 2019-20 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: Aug. 5, 2020
Published: Aug. 13, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
- I think Domi would be best suited on RW. A huge majority of his goals as a centre came from him coming down the right wing, cutting to the middle, and wristing the puck in the net. He can then play in the middle offensively but doesn't have to do the work down low defensively.

i think Evans is gone for this year. Remember how he got destroyed at traning camp? That's his second concussion in the same calendar year. He's 24... health should be his priority until next camp!

I can't find the story but I saw yesterday that he was considered a possibility for game 1

I think that's complete BS if he comes back. Evans is not the difference between winning or lusing for the Habs. Let the kid rest until next year. Weal/Poehling can play there...

I agree and was surprised they would be letting him back so soon especially after the Juulsen issues of returning too soon.

Couple of things.

1) Tatar has been awful all playoffs long so far and his carrer playoff stats are a disgrace. 30 GP in the playoffs and only 9 PTS. Movie Tatar to the second line with KK and Drouin and place Domi on the top line with Suzuki and Gallagher.

2) Jake Evans is not ready to come back yet so Poehling plays center and unfortunaly, Julien won't take Weise out of the lineup, he likes him too much.

3) I wouldn't play Juulsen just yet. He hasn't had enough games this year. I would put without hesitation Fleury instead of Ouellet who was just awful last night against the Flyers.

4) I would put Lindgren in net instead of Price, to give him a little rest…. JUST KIDDING

I like the suggested line up changes but I don't know enough about Domi on RW to say if it would be effective or not.
One thing I do know is that he's rotting away on the 4th and needs more ice time and more skilled linemates to work with.
Its time for the habs to go back to old fashioned line deployments - top 6 scoring - middle 3 defensive shut down with scoring potential, bottom 3 - high energy with scoring potential.
I also like bringing in Juulsen in replacement of Oulette but I would look to replace Mete as well if we can, I cringe whenever those two are on the ice together, maybe Juulsen could be that defensive stonewall for the bottom pairing and give Mete the chance to free wheel into the the attacking zone.

Lastly, I would also like to see what could be achieved switching up Suzuki and KK for some shifts and letting them play with the suggested wingers.
