Description
What is San Jose's plan? Are they officially rebuilding? Are they looking for playoff action? Is everyone on the trade block or are guys like Hertl available even if he's still youngish?

Trade is just a sample of what I would expect if San Jose is rebuilding and everyone is for sale. Need a trade for AGM requirement.

Doug has said he's looking to compete next season so I doubt Hertl will be on the trade block though I have heard some rumors along with Labanc and Burns

that trade though definitely isn't enough for Hertl

Yeah, we're not getting Hertl for that. Strome or Georgiev for the SJS 2nd would be a good move though

San Jose is looking to compete, needs to add a short term goalie, and either a 2RW and/or 3C.

And that trade is a no, Strome is a no touch, and the value is definitely not enough for Hertl.

Andersson + CAR 1st is nowhere close to worth Hertl.

I like him for 3 million dollars, just not the 5-6 he's projected to get because he played with Panarin and has massively inflated numbers.

As a player he is alright, but:

https://twitter.com/EvolvingHockey/status/1296117785970585601
"Yes, our projected contract for Ryan Strome is 8 years at $7.388, however, that is the most likely contract. The next most likely term for Strome is 5 years, which would have a projected AAV of $5.827."
-Evolving Hockey

He is going to get a terrible contract, and the fact he has arbitration is going to force that, everyone knows that his numbers are ridiculously hyper inflated because of Panarin, anything above 4M (which is already questionably high) is going to be a terrible contract. Best to avoid him no matter what, especially if we need to pay a hefty price to get him.
