Wanted to get a different mix on the 3rd line here. A playmaker, a shooter, and a ton of defensive talent.

Can’t see the Panthers trading Weegar, but I do think the value is fair/close for all these trades. Team is definitely more well rounded.

Doubt Robertson is on the 4th line either, that’s a total Babcock move lol, probably goes at 3LW and eiZAR to the right side and Leivo to the 4th line.

Yeah, I think Robertson will get looks all over the lineup next season, especially with Keefe's penchant for mixing-and-matching.

Basically you've got four LWers here who can play up and down the lineup depending on the game situation.

apparently they are considering moving him as his value is high rn. With their owner being cheap and reportedly wanting to cut 10mill from the team (its happening due to Corona money loss) I could see him moving weegar in a package that brings a depth dman and a pick or wing

Or and this is what many people think is gonna happen. With their 1st round pick they draft Jake Sanderson, bring up Priske who is to good for the AHL and Djuse who can be a nice third to 2nd pairing guy. But the more likely is Stillman gets a promotion to 2nd or top pairing. So if they moved weegar in a package their dcore would be

Stillman-Ekblad
Djuse-Stralman
Yandle-Priske

And i would be amazed if Leivo returned. Granted Babcock was a pain in the ass for him but given a chance he could play well with the leafs again. Heck like he did in vancouver if required he can play top 6.

Dubas absolutely did right by Leivo though, moving him to Vancouver instead of letting him languish in the press box, so I don't think there's any bad blood there with Babcock gone. If the team has openings on the 3rd line (and they will, if they trade Johnsson and Kapanen), Leivo seems like exactly the kind of low-cost, analytic-friendly addition Toronto could make.

Still seems like a bad move for Florida. There are better options if it's about shedding salary.

Ekblad is the only guy in that group I'd consider a legit top-4 option. Maybe Stillman and/or Priskie get there eventually. Don't know anything about Djuse, so I'll reserve judgement, but seeing that Dallas traded him for a 6th round pick at this year's deadline, it's hard to imagine Florida will be relying on him to play top-4 minutes right away. With Barkov and Huberdeau being in their primes and the prospect pool being kinda mediocre, I don't see them being in a position to rebuild right now. Moving Weegar for futures/inferior assets is a sign to me that that's the direction in which they're heading.

None of that sounds very coherent but it's late
