Yes they can. A team can retain up to 50% of a players salary, and the max retained on a players contract is 2 times (75% of total contract)

Not that it'd be enough for Montreal to consider this anyways.

Implying Weal is worth a 2021 6th pick, if we compare to the original rumor domi+poehling+1st, Lucic capdump at 3,75m for 3 years would be worth the 15th overall pick this year. Maybe... so CLG can resign their D and even a better keeper
