That Brodin trade is awful. They can get way more in return for the best defensive defenseman in the league.

Im not sure why you have Joel Eriksson Ek on the 3rd line. Hes more than capable of being a good 2nd line centre.

Dumba for Hanifin is an interesting idea, but I dont think Minnesota accepts because Dumba is better offensively and they need offense

Dumba & Brodin aren't problems. It's underachievers like Kunin & Greenway. And Soucy.

The Brodin trade is a common one on here

The order of the top 3 centres doesn't really matter. My thought process was to continue playing Fiala with Staal to start. Strome above Joel because of his higher offensive upside & JEE leads the shutdown line

Dumba is moved for a younger, cheaper Dman with more term to full the void of Minnesota's lack of LHD in comparison to RHD. Especially after having to move Brodin for a top 6 C which imo fills the need for offence much more than staying put.

It also lets the D core look something like:
Suter-Spurgeon
Hanifin-Addison
Soucy-Menell

Value. They're two of the only pieces that can actually land the Wild a top 6 C. Now, before you bring up how Dumba is moved for another Dman, the Wild have much more depth at RHD than LHD. Addison could replace Dumba's spot by the start of the 2021 season. This wasn't a reason for the move but it DOES help the Wild with the Seattle expansion draft.

MTL needs a lefty, so Brodin and a forward like Rask, Kunin, or Greenway for Domi & Mete.

Im not sure if you noticed or not, but 95% of armchair gms are made by idiots. So a trade being common means nothing

You say theres a lack of LHDs in Minnesota and then you trade Brodin whos one of the best LHDs in the NHL...

I traded Brodin because he's more likely to land a top 6 C. I then traded Dumba for Hanifin because he's younger, cheaper & still a quality Dman. It helps the team's centre problem, they get younger & accumulate draft capital (Calgary adds, I just don't know how much. Chicago could add but idk how excited they would be to do so). So i think the idea of it is solid for a tram like MIN
