That’s not true, I just used the base 650k amount for my home state since it’s the easiest to calculate to see if this statement is true or not. At 650k while filing married you have a tax liability of roughly 172k which is an effective tax of 26.5% and the Gavin calculator is 31.61% which makes sense because other states have higher taxes. If your claim is correct it would be at that 26.5% or closer to it considering it’s a wealth management group they would account for things outside standard deduction (which mine didn’t).
