Jets decline. We aren’t moving copp for a piece we really don’t need.

You need to give up a lot more for kuznetsov. The conversations starts with your 2020 1st

Agreed that the value is off, but I am also intrigued. Caps need to get younger, faster, and are a capped team with few high end prospects in the system. RD is #1 offseason priority. Will likely want a fairly inexpensive veteran G to share the net with Samsonov for 1-2 years. IMO Orlov (who I really like) is a smart asset to move -- he's a very good LD, and the Caps have younger, cheaper options there, particularly if they resign Dillon as UFA. Is there a trade that you can imagine that meets Caps needs a little better? Thanks.

I’m not sure moving kuznetsov solves those problems. Imo sure, move orlov if you want but not kuznetsov. He is a crucial part of the top 6 in Washington. I would say sign a rd like shattenkirk (oh wait deja vu lol) or vatanen. Imo vatanen is good at anything under 6M. I would say that if you are moving orlov, try to get Dillon for under 4.

Montour's name gets thrown around a lot as a guy Caps could target. Do you like him as a 15-17 MPG responsible RD? Does Buf have any interest in Kempny? (Thanks for the response.)

Yeah montour makes sense. Seems like a pretty good fit. I think buffalo would be interested in kempny if they don’t sign a top 4 ld this offseason
