Creative trades and UFAs signings. The Krejci situation will be tricky if Sweeney finds that Krejci doesn’t want to sign a cheaper AAV extension.

Yes, we don't have the cap room to take on cap dumps. I get that Moore is a Chicago native, but at $2.75M we have cheaper options for third liners or reserve D players.

Maybe Chicago isn't a good landing spot but I think you see a soft deal like this with some team to clear his cap space.

Canes management doesn’t like rentals. I don’t see them trading a first for a one year player.

CGY should be wide open to this idea if they truly believe Valimaki is ready for 2nd pairing LD minutes next year. Lots of people think he is...some others don't. Debrusk fits the mold of Tkachuk's team going forward really well. Interesting idea.

+ Might as well sign Chara for a $2M x 1 year deal. He's still capable, and still a huge part of that locker room and leadership. Can see him doing the Joe Thornton deal program for a few more years yet.

+ I'll add that I could see Hall signing for less than $8M to go to a team like BOS. He wants to win, and has said that money isn't the only aspect of the decision.
