Those Domi and Haula signings are VERY optimistic...also you will most likely have to pay someone to take Russell. If by chance a team actually wants him, a 7th is more realistic than a 3rd.

i dont think they will have to pay to get rid of russell. 4 mill cap hit but salary is only 1.5
an ottawa or NJ could use him to make the cap floor and payout very little. also allows them to stay near the bottom for another high pick next year.

If domi is available I would assume oilers would get outbid in trade offer. Domi can play c that’s going to add a premium to him oilers have zero reason to pay.
That being said if Tatar or Drouin are available I could see oilers being among most aggressive teams in search of a top six winger.
