A top 4 D, a former highly skilled winger whos a former top 10 pick, a 1st in a great draft, a D prospect with potential to supplant chychrun, thats a haul

the fact you got Deangelo from the coyotes....I dont think that adds any value to them, they got rid of him for a reason.
And hes not a top 4dman universally, he cant actually play D, just put up points like a made man.

The real value is the 1st and Kravtsov for Chychrun...and thats not over paying. the rest of the trade is just padding around spare parts that either the coyotes wouldnt want or wouldnt want to get rid of

The yotes were 23rd in goals for, deangelo, even if a negative defensively, is huge help offensively for a team that needs it

I always find this argument funny....if deangelo is so good and a point making machine why wouldnt the rangers want to keep him, especially since you are trying to replace him with another Dman in this trade.
Its bc hes a seriously flawed player who is going to make too much money with padded stats due to points on the PP and 2nd assists (half of his assists were 2nd)

It's less that we want to get rid of him and more we don't need him. We have two very good offensive d-men on the right side in Fox and Trouba with another on the way in Lundkvist so we don't really need Deangelo. With Deangelo potentially looking at getting 6M per year, we don't want to pay that much for something that we don't need so that is why we are looking to trade him.
