Description
Hey guys! I'm trying to find trading partners for the Habs. I need a potent, young RD. 3rd pair d-man that could play Top-4 in 2-3 years, when Habs move away from either/both Weber and Petry.

My offer is Mete and/or Poehling + a 2nd pick this year. But you gotta take Alzner's contract back. So basicaly, I'm looking for a Right-handed Mete and I'm giving you a 2nd to take Alzner.

Now, I signed Crawford to a team-friendly 2-year deal. It could be him or another veteran backup acquisition, either from UFA or via trade. Also, I think Habs trade Domi + a couple of other assets to get a scoring winger, but that's another story!

What you offer has low value and what you are asking is high valued. Doesn't work that way.

The problem with trading for someone at RD means Juulsen, Fleury and Brook are all playing in Laval. This would be a big problem for the development of the position. 1 of those 3 are definitely playing behind Petry. I even think Bergy needs to trade 1 of them to make room for future growth. (ie, one in the NHL, one in the AHL top pairing, one traded or packaged away).
Due to the injury situation, I think it's best Juulsen plays in AHL, Fleury looked most NHL ready. Brook could be packaged.

Sorry, but Mete + Poehling + a 2nd does have value! Of course, taking back Alzner has negative value. But I just wanna know if a team has something to offer for that package...

Problem is, I can't see one of those 3 playing top-4 minutes in 2 years. Juulsen maybe, but big question marks healthwise. Brook? I dunno, I haven't seen him enough. Fleury is a bottom-pairing guy IMO.

      I think it's a little pre-emptive to judge Fleury as a bottom-pairing Dman given he's only 21 yo.
I'm extremely pessimist on how the Habs develop the position. When was the last time they properly drafted and developped a player to play top4 role? Pk Subban, and then?...Andrei Markov.
Guys like Emelin, Mete, Juulsen, Lernout, Thrower, Beaulieu, Tinordi, Fisher. Honestly, the list goes on and on.
Ironically enough, the only two real prospects they've traded in all this time are Sergachev and Mcdonagh!!! It's almost like they want to suck on Dfence.

I think Emelin was a good pick and he served us well. Mete was rushed in the NHL because of org needs. Beaulieu had talent, but we all know about his personal problems... The others are all busts, except for Juulsen, who was a great pick but he was sooooo unlucky with injuries. Time will tell, but he could have been top-4...

Il like how you just brush off the fact you are asking a team to pay $9Mil+. No biggy. I'm sure people will rush to make you offers....

alzner contract is not getting moved in a flat cap year. literally 0 probability of that. what is more likely is that nhl offers one timecompliance buyout bc of covid situation.

Actually Anaheim NEED a RD... they only one they have is Manson today... so probably the wrong target. but Ana need a TOP-RD and Petry would sign their for sure... sunny and warm all year longcool
so Petry- Domi- 2nd for Rackell, Lindholm, (Both would falls UFA in 2 years... so Anaheim need a quick retool... getting Domi long-term & resign Petry Long term would stabilized the team... and a great 2nd draft pick who will play in the NHL in 2 years)
