LOL - Cgy retaining on this trade?
WTF am I reading this morning, I think its been enough CF today... its starting to get absolutely disasterous.

How about:

Mark Jankowski
Jakob Pelletier
2021 1st and 2nd

for

David Pastranak ($1,750,000 retained though)

Don’t like this at all. Why not just sign someone like Hoffman instead of trading assets for Gaudreau?

Added a little extra for CGY due to the retained salary. Needed to do it to make the money work on Boston's side. Frederic is better than Jankowski and Pasta is better than Gaudreau

Gaudreau is younger plus I needed the retained salary to make the deal work as Hoffman will likely get around 7 mil

Assets?
These assetts you speak of are borderline worthless let alone the players in question.
Not a single established NHL player, and 2 late round picks?

So what if he’s younger. His contract runs out sooner. If he is only there for a couple years age means nothing.

There are other options besides Hoffman. It was just an example.

They can also let Krug walk sign someone like Dillon to beef up the backend and have more cap space for a goal scoring wing.

Plenty of options, giving away what little future assets they have when it is not necessary is bad business.

Flames decline anyway.

You can keep Nick Ritchie. Hawks don't want to give up a 4th for a dirty, unskilled power forward who does nothing but take dumb penalties.

Il take Ritchie and debrusk off your hands for 14th overall. Adding that pick to the flames offer will certainly bring it to a tempting level for the flames.

Gaudreau is one of the most overrated players on this site, don't try to compare him to Pastranak, he's not even close to as good

I know this is hardly the substance of this AGM, but Hawks wouldn't give the Bruins a 6th round pick for Ritchie.

Tough to afford him. Don’t see the allure anyway. Every team he’s been on has sucked and he is not well liked in the locker room. Talented sure but not worth it. Rather save a couple a million and take a lesser but talented player.

Sweeney needs to address the Krejci LW/RW scoring situation. I want a forward that can fill the net and be creative. Whomever ever it is Sweeney needs to make a commitment.

Ya. I don’t see it being Hall tho.. Zona offered 7.5 and it sounds like they are going to increase the offer. We are strapped even getting creative.

Not with Krug gone. Could be Hall wants out of the desert.
