a) Hossa is a lock for the LTIR and doesn't cost anything to a team like Arizona
b) They won't take on Van Riemsdyk's chonker of a contract
c) Arizona doesn't own that 2nd rounder anymore
d) It's still a massive overpay

LITR isn't free space, it stops teams from backing cap space in the season for a start. It's better for a team not to use LITR than to use it.
