I would probably play Juolevi instead of re-signing Edler. I'd probably have Macewen be the 4th line center too

That is not even close on the Ottawa trade. Price to move Eriksson is a 1st. Teams will have an even bigger cap crunch next year.

I think you underpaid Petterson by about $2m on an 8 year deal, maybe Hughes as well -- I think he could make $7m on a 3 year bridge deal like Point's. The Demo deal may work, but if he's the starter next season, he'll want to be paid like it the year after so I think he also gets a bit more or this is 2 years instead of 3. But all that said, this is 20-man roster when you really need 23, so I don't see it being too realistic in that sense.

Looks good. But I also think your selling too low on Virtanen.

Virtanen has a lot more years of control compared to Anderson not to mention Anderson had a terrible year while Virtanen had a solid year.

Anderson was hurt, 27 goals tow years ago. Both can use change of scenery.

how is it selling low on virtanen when he has his best career year? Andersons career averages are better than JV i think a one for one swap is more than fair.

Virtanen has 4 years of control, Anderson has 1.

Virtanen has similar numbers that Anderson had when Anderson was his age.

I don't see why you would give up years of control for nothing...

Anderson had one good season, the rest of his career he's been a 30 point player. Virtanen's still improving and his numbers this year were better than anything Anderson has put up barring that one year.

I rather sign Virtanen keep him as an RFA with trade value than have 1 year of Anderson who hasn't played in a year.

Yeah sure, but JV has also only had one decent year. You cant be "selling low" on JV but "selling high" on anderson when they both ony have one decent year to their name. And ya sure if they both sign 1 year deals its probably worth keeping JV, but anderson probably will get more than a 1 year deal anyways so he'll be under team control for more than 1 year anyhow. I dont think teams would be jumping to the phone to offer the canucks significantly more for JV than they would offer CBJ for Anderson.

In my opinion, Jake Virtanen is worth a high 2nd round pick. Anderson is worth a 3rd round pick.
