Sabres decline. We have enough bottom 6 forwards.

Why give up a high pick + a prospect to move Baertschi when you still have enough cap space to keep his contract on the books?

Blue Jackets decline, because Gaudette is a bottom-6 forward. If Anderson can be a second-line player for you, he can be that for us, too.

Gaudette adds a bit of C depth for CBJ and he's still a young player + former Hoby Baker winner who produced at 45-point clip in 2nd season. What would need to be added to Gaudette to acquire Anderson as I think it's a good starting point?

His pace was good, but we need guys who score at a higher rate than that. We really need a 2C or a 1W to jolt our scoring. The Canuck I'm obsessed with is Boeser, beyond the obvious no-gos of Pettersson and Horvat.

Gonna be hard to a get player like Boeser for Anderson, who only scored 1 goal in 26 games and has 3 goals in 21 career playoff games. He's also coming off season ending shoulder surgery which could affect his physicality going forward. He'll have gone over a full calendar year without playing. You're probably best hanging on to him because his value league-wide is likely to be low. CBJ Twitter even put out a propaganda post about to make his stats sound better.

I wouldn't imagine Andy would fetch Boeser by himself. I'd include him in almost any trade as part of a package.
