1. Hossa is an LTIR so you didn't really help your cap space much
2. That is a ludicrous return for OEL. Klefbom and him are pretty close in skill level so it wouldn't be this much as a return.
3. Ken Holland is a master of trades and would do this in reverse to you.

to be fair, I was spitballing as I don't have much info on OEL aside from the usual fanfare that follows someone commanding his salary. "top 10 d-man in the league", "legit 1st pair D", "nightly 25 minute guy", etc.

far as Hossa, we'd just stick him on LTIR anyhow. It was more a sweetener for ARI to deal their captain to a divisional rival by saving them real world $$$

this is good feedback though so would a re-adjusted trade like this work better?

2020 3rd (assuming we lose 2021's 3rd to CGY instead)

I know Arizona loves saving money but they aren't in a position to take a cap dump so I think it would have to be reworked without Russel and I honestly know s#%! all about Samorukov. Maybe if you retained on Russel idk

that's the thing with Russel, his cap hit is $4M, but actual $'s owed is only $1.5M. perfect for teams looking to get to the salary floor and save on cash
