Is that just for Ottawa or do you think no team would be willing to take Johnson in a deal like this? What would you consider a reasonable add in order to dump JJ?

I love how some people on here love to slag other peoples ideas, but don't have the guts to put out their own.

A 2nd and a 4th isn't enough for Johnson? In a year where we're probably gonna suck. On a team that isn't gonna be competing for a few years. Are you high?

Its hard to say, because he simply is a bad defenseman, so it would require a team who is more "old school" can kid themselves that he is both a good defenseman at baseline and that he won't be getting much worse anyway at almost 34 years old when next season starts at the end of 2020.

So if you find a team that actually believes he's likely to be a decent 3rd pairing defenseman, than you need someone to be willing to pay you the cost of losing 1.5-2 mil off his value (if he's a third pairing defenseman he should be making like 1-2 mil, for 3 years

So then yeah maybe a pair of seconds? A good but not blue chip prospect and a second or third?

However if most realize he is what he is? Terrible and already 33, well over a 1st.

I'm unclear what you mean by "we", from Ottawa's perspective?

I don't think you're getting them to spend over $8 million for a second, and it isn't for 1 year, its a 3 year contract...

No I mean the Penguins are gonna suck in 2022 according to everyone. Whatever bud if you don't want a 2nd rounder for a guy who costs $2 million a year (when his contract is buried in the AHL) I don't know what to tell you

I get what you are saying, but if you listen to JR, JMFJ is a good 3rd pair D. The question is, does any other GM in the league agree with JR.

As I said that's the question.

Truthfully even if other GM's believe that they should be smart enough to recognize it won't last at 34... Lol

I don't know why you say what I want. I'm neither an owner nor fan of Ottawa.

But as we're all trying to tell you with a team like Ottawa it's not just the cap it's the $
