Description

These are a lot of moves and most wouldn't happen, but would provide flexibility for the following season to sign Pettersson and Hughes. Over $21M coming off the cap with Edler, Bjugstad, Schenn, Talbot, Pearson, and Baertschi. Plus Roussel could be bought out if more flexibility needed, and Spooner comes off the books.

No, Benning has gone to say he’s not dumping contracts for the future ie prospects or picks. If the Canucks happen to keep Marky, you’re selling our best goalie prospect for a salary dump? No

PIT trade makes no sense. They don’t want Sutter. Canucks tried to acquire Bjugstad in the past and he’s quite expensive for a 3rd liner. Problems staying healthy I believe.

Quick and emphatic no from Columbus. We need top-6 forward help, particularly a 2C. Gaudette isn't likely to be that, Gadjovich isn't much of a prospect, and Stecher would give us 11 NHL-caliber D. I'm more confident we'd have interest in putting together a package for Boeser or Horvat (not that you'd ever trade the latter).

I like where you are headed with increasing the toughness but I don't think the value the Canucks are sending is enough.
