21-22 playoff team

Created by: Jah1722
Team: 2021-22 Anaheim Ducks
Initial Creation Date: Sep. 16, 2020
Published: Sep. 16, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Just made this post to see how much cap the ducks actually have available for 21-22. They have a ton and can add some high end pieces and don’t really have to move anyone unless one of the pending RFAs has a hig season.

This is why I don’t want the ducks to take on multi year cap dumps.

Where jones? Why not expose him over Lundestrom?

I hope this is a playoff team. But, honestly I foresee 1st round exit.

By $120k if the cap doesn’t rise at all next year with Kesler on IR not LTIR. Also Deslauriers is signed thru 21-22.

I forgot to re-sign him because I kept looking for a youngish RD I would trade him for lol and then just decided on re-signing Hakanpaa. Also between Jones, Lindestrom or Heinen there’s not much of a difference in their quality right now. Could change based on this year obviously.

I think we're set up to be pretty good after the Seattle expansion. Between the flat cap and expansion draft we've got some opportunities to bring in some real talent from teams in cap hell or looking to trade guys who would go to Seattle. We'll have a ton of cap space and hopefully Zegras/Tracey/6 OA/27 OA start to bubble up and contribute at the NHL level. The Vegas expansion kinda ended our run, maybe the Seattle expansion starts the next one.

It’s not even the expansion draft tho. It’s just the fact that they have so much cap space.

Right, but the expansion draft means more guys will be available than usual. Any other expected big FAs besides Hamilton around that time?

Fwd group there’s a handful of quality guys Under 30 like RNH, Gallagher, Tatar, Landeskog types. Hamilton is the only big name Dman. Ovechkin is also UFA that offseason.

I like Hamilton but for whatever reason he doesn't seem to last long wherever he's at. Could definitely use an offensive RHD or really just a good RHD in general. Was just curious would love to get a legit goal scorer (if we don't draft or stumble our way into one by then).
