lool you are talking about a player who has already shown what he can do in the NHL in return calgary should get in return boone jenner, and ryan murray , perhaps also add in a 4th or 5th then it would make more sense.

Just out of spite, if you want Gaudreau, prepare to lose a player of equal value or the equivalent in prospects and picks.

For Gaudreau the trade needs to be one or the other:

One of Jones, Saad, Murray, Jenner plus picks to equal out. 1st or 2nd's depending on the player.
Or
One of Dubois, Werenski plus picks to equal out. 1st or 2nd's depending on the player.

If your not willing to pay that price, that's fine. No one is forcing you but that is what Treliving would need back to be happy with this situation. Otherwise, he'll just wait him out and they'll eventually sign a contract. Eventually one of them will bend a bit more to the other's demands.
