I see that you signed krug and got oel, but you gave up sooooooo much for oel. I would say the yotes would probs except one for one carlo for oel IMO
This has to be a joke. Anisimov is way worse than krecji. and you gave stuff up for that.
Also where is Debrusk.

No freaking way Don Sweeney gives Torey Krug 8 x $7.5m, Fat chance of David Krejci waiving for Ottawa. Reportedly Tyler Toffoli wants 5 x $5.5m to stay in Vancouver he's not signing for less to play in Boston. Adding Toffoli signing Krug and adding Oliver Ekman-Larsson is a major pipedream and isn't happening.

Can't imagine Arizona saying no to this.

The contract for Krug seems about right, I thought Boston had already accepted the fact that he is probably gone?

Wow this is sooooo bad.

Massive overpay for OEL.

No need to sign Krug if adding OEL.

Destroyed the right side of the D.

Forwards are actually worse off than before.

Toffoli not signing that.

Where is Grizz?

Killed the future (draft) for a team that will be very average.

dude is still a top pairing defensemen thast good offensively and defensively so what if the dude is overpayed by 1M-1.5M and his contract takes him till he's 35 which isnt bad considering other 8 year contract take players until their 38-40

Why not. They have a need for cost controlled players. Carlo is a young RHD, which they need, they DESPERATELY, need to clear money, lowering OEL's value. That trade makes sense for both sides. Gotta think about it. As a Bruin's fan, I would not do it. If you're a coyotes fan, you clear a contract of a declining player who will be an unmovable contract two years from now. You Bring in a young RHD who can play fantastic defense and really let Chychrun develop his offensive game. Also, Carlo will never make over 6 million aav.

OEL isnt some bum he's still a top pairing defensemen that's over payed by 1M to 1.5M and OEL will bounce back under a different coach as with Tocchet he's been asked to play more physical and eat a lot more minutes than he should and he doesnt like that so they havent been onpage over the past 3 years Coyotes might as well wait for the perfect return just like Colorado did with Duchene

No need to have both Krug and ORL. Big overpay for OEL. Studnicka out of the lineup Ritchie to the 3rd line ?

Yeah, but he isn't as good as he was before. And who knows if he bounce back with the Yotes, who will likely not be contenders for a certain time again. He has 7 years in his deal; he'll probably remain a good player for 3-4 years but after that, even $6M will be too much. I don't know many other players who are overpaid that have contracts until they're 38-40; 36-37, yes.

Don't waste your time, he's a leafs fan and it's already a disaster with that deal for OEL/Anisimov playing 2C.

I wouldn’t go that far. This has kind of been Sweeney’s MO. He takes his time with contract negotiations. Carlo signed super late, Mcavoy signed super late, there was talk of a damn offer sheet for Pastrnak because it was so deep into free agency.

I think he takes a Belichick strategy in two ways. 1. He lets players go talk to other teams during negotiations. 2. He’ll never tell you he doesn’t want a UFA back, but he’ll just passively let a guy go that he doesn’t want back. I think Krug falls into the latter category, which I also think is a mistake.

He will definitely bounce back under a new coach OEL and Tocchet have not worked well with each other as Tocchet has wanted OEL to play a more physical game while OEL doesn't want to because that isnt his game , his power play number's has fallen off a cliff mostly cause Tocchet doesn't know how to coach a power play unit and that will certainly rebound coyotes might as well wait for a perfect offer which is a 1st , top 6/top 4 dman and a decent prospect

Second make that Arizona deal is the second put a deadline on being a competitor. Given up a lot of future assets that are needed to help maintain direction also added a contract that can become a very significant issue if/when he takes a big drop off. I’m concerned about rumours involving Edmonton for that reason.

Belichick is a master of somehow acquiring these "troubled" experienced players to come play for him for cheap. Always amazed me.
