Why would Pittsburgh do this? As a Wings fan I think Pittsburgh fans are going to be much more upset about this trade than Wing's fans will.

We wouldn't do it. Murray alone is probably worth about a late first or early 2nd. And I would say Hornqvists value is about a 2nd or a 3rd. This mock makes our bottom 6 way worse and that was one of our biggest issues last season.

But Hornqvist's value from Detroit's point of view he is a cap dump and would want compensation. With Murray IMO is a average regular season goalie but he always was able to lift play in the playoffs. Now that Pittsburgh hasn't been able to make it out of the first round in the last 2 seasons. Since there several teams looking to move their #2 goalie because you can only protect 1 add that to several big name goalies becoming UFA's its going to be tough to get full value for Murray. If Jarry is Pittsburgh's #1 goalie moving forward why didn't he start in the playoffs? I think the smartest move is to hold on to him until the TDL or maybe a little sooner. The goalie market is watered down now but with all the injuries in the NHL it's not IF a goalie gets hurt but WHEN a goalie gets hurt.
