Fair enough. If he can go back to his 2020-2022 form that contract is a steal but considering his decline in play, I see it being frisky.

Askarov
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dgibb10</b></div><div>I disagree on that front. I like an Askarov or a Knight acquisition more than I like the ridiculous prices being thrown around on whatever goalie is having a hot run lately.
Give me a 4th line, physical forward who can kill penalties and play strong defensively sound hockey (Yakov Trenin), and a defensively sound, puck moving dman who can also kill penalties (Marcus Pettersson or Noah Hanifin) before we spend big on a goalie.
We’ll revisit goalies in the offseason</div></div>
Simply makes no sense. You're taking a risk on a goalie who has never played in the NHL, and relying him to be your goalie of the future when goaltending was your problem this year. It's an urgent need, you need to realize that.

Askarov
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dgibb10</b></div><div>NHL front offices generally show how they value goalie prospects. Which is way lower than that of position players. Which is why they get drafted so low.
I don’t think what Askarov has done at the AHL level has been enough to boost his stock to being significantly more than Holtz (who also dominated the AHL, but back 2 years ago when he was 19)
Specifically since they have Saros and their coach specifically really likes holtz.
Maybe a secondary pieces could be added but I just can’t see the logic behind a large value gap.</div></div>
Either way, NJ needs a goalie who will help them now. It has definitely been an underwhelming season, but you are still in win-now mode. You need a game-changer, not a prospect, so I do agree that it makes no sense for them.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dgibb10</b></div><div>Wallstedt is the best goalie prospect imo.
Holtz went higher in the draft, has shown a lot more at the NHL level. Goalies are unpredictable.
Also did I mention Nashville’s head coach loves Alex Holtz, was his biggest supporter in Jersey.</div></div>
Fair enough on Wallstedt. I feel like the draft is an inaccurate comparison because goalies are so weird. I do think Holtz will be a solid second line goal scorer but my point is that Nashville will ask for quite more.

How Much for Kahkonen
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TJTwolf</b></div><div>Frankie is done for the whole year so the Avs wouldn't be trading him. Likelihood is the offer would be based around Prosvetov and probably a 4th. Beyond that the Avs probably look elsewhere.</div></div>
I feel like teams know that COL is desperate for a goalie so I think Colorado might be giving up a lot regardless of who it is...I see Kahkonen for a second being a solid deal for both teams, although they don't have a second until 2026.

It might be an overpayment for him but you say him for Holtz one for one as if Holtz has proven himself at the NHL level lol...I understand he doesn't get a ton of playing time but you're not getting the league's best goalie prospect for an unproven scorer

Not sure why Carolina, a contending team, is trading for one of the worst goalies in the league and still getting worse even if you disregard that part...
Also that is way too much for Boone Jenner, take out the first and I still think Toronto doesn't do that, although Jenner does seem like a Brad Treleving type of player.

Value isn't bad but I don't see Anaheim trading Gibson for a roster player, especially considering you're giving them two picks. Anaheim will be better next year than they were last year, but they're still rebuilding, meaning they should still be targeting young pieces rather than a 28 year old defenseman in his prime.

Nylander is better than Toffoli, Liljegren has more value than Tanev. Robertson is a massive question mark and doesn't come close to evening out the value here.

Awful value on the Toronto trade, Nylander is younger and arguably better than Scheifele. Toronto sees Liljegren as a key defenseman of their future. You did retain salary on Wheeler but he truly makes the Maple Leafs worse.

Love the idea of acquiring Skinner and flipping him for picks, but not quite enough back for Hart. Great haul for Konecny though, probably too much given up from Detroit there.

I don't love the idea of getting rid of Milano to offload Mantha. Mantha isn't that good but you're ridding two top six (maybe nine) wingers just to clear cap. I know you replaced them but that's a decent overpayment for Barbashev. Would rather add another pick instead of Milano.

Nylander's value is at an all-time high, no reason to trade him for an RFA (who's worse than Nylander).
As a Flyers fan, I'd be insanely happy if Pittsburgh did that trade. Unfortunately, it'll take you quite a lot to offload that contract with no retention.

The first pays for Murray so this essentially Philadelphia getting a second and Minten for Hart, a fourth and a sixth. There will be way better offers out there than that.

Fair enough to Kreider but most of his goals were on the power play. He's doing what he is expected to do, maybe that's not folding but my point is that the Rangers need a player who will help bigtime in the playoffs.

Boeser + taking on Goodrow's contract doesn't get you Lafreniere. Boeser's value is currently at an all time low. Additionally, how does he help the Rangers? Their big time wingers (Panarin and Kredier) do well in the regular season, but folded in the playoffs this year. Will Boeser really push them over the top in the postseason?
