Kulak seems the odd man out.

Edmundson' signing is showing a lack of trust in Kulak and with Romanov coming (praised by MTL organization), there's no room for him unless one of the three switch to RD. Even then, he could be lost to Seattle. Kulak still had great playoffs and wasn't getting carried by Petry on the 2nd pair.

Consistancy might be an issue (according to Bergevin), but he could fill top 4 role when needed and with a 3rd pair salary, it's totally worth a try.

Mete could also be the odd man out, but a bridge deal could settle his true self. He's younger than Kulak, make sense to give more time. KK would be really sad to see him leave too.

Benn has not worked with VAN. Ideally he wouldn't be a starter and a 2m healthy scratch for a cap crunch team isn't great. Due to this, it's fair to say he has no value. He'd be a better 4th LD than Ouellet (or 5th if we count Mete) and he knows the system already.

Kulak is worth a 3rd pick because he performed well this season at a fair AAV. He could take plenty of minutes in 5v5 if Edler slows down this season at 34 (totally possible). He'd fit on a 3rd pair or with Myers

Some AGM trade Virtanen for 2nd pick and that could be his value. It's the kind of player that can fade away during a game (or couple of games) and have a **** attitude. That doesn't attract teams usually. Being cap crunch would also force a trade, i think it's reasonable to forgive Benning if he doesn't get full value of players traded.

Maybe Hudon could finally find his touch in VAN. Could be his last try. Have him at league minimum (he has no value, but some offensive upside)

If anything, MTL adds.
