Just a question here.. why give Arizona picks and Juulsen for Hall? He's a UFA. They don't need to give back anything for him..

Overpay for Laine. Take off Tatar, and maybe add Mete or Kulak or a prospect like Struble.
I also think you overpay in the MIN trade.

Ok so trade for talks. Makes sense, hope Hall wants to come to MTL (he said it in the news, but you know hockey players... they want to play everywhere until it's time to sign..)

That's what we just did for Edmunson. I agree that Juulsen + a 2nd is a lot tough. If Hall really consider coming, it may be considered, but I wouldn't do it.

It’s actually not terrible value wise but too many variables. Tatar and Danault are UFAs after next year. Dumbas a nice piece but all of this could blow up in Winnipeg’s face if the UFAs don’t resign and Dumba can’t find his offensive prowess again.
Thought Minny said they were keeping Rask to give him more ice time. They also get screwed with Alzners salary.
I think it comes down to Montreal needs to give up better younger quality if they expect Winnipeg to give up Laine and Minny to give up Dumba whole shedding Alzners cap hit.

The Winnipeg trade is win now which is not their style as least not of this magnitude especially losing the future of Laine. Danault would obviously fit in the much needed 2C and would need to be extended in the trade. Tatar would fit well in the wing position but what would he want to be extended? Dumba is still a top 4 dman but I don't think fits what they need- I don't see Dumba and Morrissey being good together.

I don’t think Mtl overpay on this one (MTL/MIN). Alzner have a bad contract, Rask have a bad contract also but Rask still in the NHL (not Alzner) so for that reason I think it’s a fair value maybe missing a little something like a 4/5th rnd draft pick. Poehlibg can fit on MIN third line as a centerman

You aren't getting that much value for Hall's UFA rights
