judging by what happens every time i try to trade for gaudette, that contract is not realistic.

Podkolzin has another year in the KHL he wont be in Vancouver at the earliest until 2021, And fat chance of either Markstrom or Toffoli taking those deals both want to get paid.

Severson trade isn't terrible, but it's not great either. Juolevi is meh. Question- is Virtanen a good skater? Because if he is, he's the type of guy who could really flourish next to Jack while also being able to provide some protection.

Vancouver likes Gaudette but he is an RFA who can’t be offersheeted and has no arb rights so I feel like he is a guy that is going to be squeezed. Realistically they could just qualify him and he would make under a million.. so I think they could get him around this price on a two year deal. Just my thoughts if that helps you understand a low contract he might be getting

Jake is a very good skater. I would say that’s his number one asset if that helps. More so his hockey sense and two way play is his negative aspects

True he might.. but in a pandemic and with the cap not rising might take a bit more money now on a 2 year deal. Can’t speak to the player or agents mindset but could prefer a qo and bet on himself next year

Virtanen is actually an excellent skater. I think the best description i've heard to describe Virtanen is that he's got all the tools (speed, size, shot) but he can't open the toolbox

So having seen him play do you think he could ever become a JT Miller type of player?

I mean anything's possible, I will say he has improved every season since his rookie year so it's possible he eventually reaches that level. During the season he played with Pettersson and Miller and looked pretty good. I think playing consistently with someone like Hughes could be massive for him.
