If NJD moves a 1st, it will likely be to move back. Or to acquire young top-4 dman. Can’t see them moving up.

Zadorov worth a 3rd and 2-year deal. Too many young guys behind him to go longer. He isn’t a top-4 guy (more like Mirco Mueller with edge).

Dunn is good player, but doesn’t fill their need. He is essentially another Will Butcher (style-wise). NJD needs guys who make their living close to their own net. The closer the pucks get to their own crease, the weaker NJD were last year.

I think there will be some young dmen available from teams with either surplus or cap issues (COL, VAN, NYI, TB, ARI possibly). Need to replace Andy Greene more than they need to replace Sami Vatanen.
