      Nurse to WSH for a 1st could make sense this offseason.

      Next offseason before expansion, when it means the Caps have to use one of three D protection slots on Nurse, you'd be lucky if they offered a 2nd.

      Ya it’s just to anyone who has a spot to protect him. I just picked the caps because they appeared to have a spot open on left d. Not much thought was put into the team.

      I think they likely re-sign Brendan Dillon, and they likely give bigger minutes this year to Jonas Siegenthaler. Along with Orlov and Carlson, that's four good defensemen they'll want to protect, out of three slots.
