I Guess Pietrangelo is Possible

Description
Look, as a Sharks fan I feel dirty as hell about doing this -and- it's nothing even close to reality, but I wanted to see if I could make the numbers work in any way that even remotely resembles "not absolute crack". As a mortal enemy of the Knights, it's in my best interest if Pietro signs, like, not just not with the Knights but as far away from the Pacific as possible. I'd really like to see him in the Atlantic division - I would LOVE to see him sign with the Panthers, as an example, but the rumors say he wants the Knights. Sigh.

Anyway, this tells me that it's *theoretically* possible for the Knights to get him if the team was prepared to make some *drastic* moves AND he was willing to do 8x7 with a full NMC for, idk, the first five years and a M-NTC with a 10 to 15 team no trade list for the last two years.

I hate that this possibility even exists, no matter how incredibly far-fetched it may be. Please go play in the Eastern conference, Pietro. Maybe go wear crop tops in North Carolina with Joel Edmundson! (I don't care where, just stay out of the Pacific division!)

Gonna take a hell of a lot to move Fleury, but I figure that the Sens take this and then buy him out, play him as backup for a year and *then* buy him out, or bury him in the minors.

Here's something helpful: this is quite possibly the WORST AGM I've seen yet, and is tantamount to blatant trolling. Nobody in their right mind actually thinks MAF, who is more than capable as a 1b, would take Tuch and 2 1sts to move the last 2 years of his contract or that MAF should be buried in the minor league.

As I have said multiple times including in the text of the AGM, this isn't anything close to the reality of what these trades would actually look like. I wasn't interested in getting the returns or terms accurate, I was interested in seeing if I could make the numbers work - ie, if I could move enough contracts to give the Knights sufficient cap space to sign Pietrangelo. If you think that I was trolling because I somehow insulted MAF by overestimating what it would take to move him (???), then hey, there's a button to report that and you should by all means take advantage of it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

You gave a fair warning in both the team description and multiple comments.

I could see VGK packaging a first to rid themselves of MAF and I’d look at moving Marchy before Tuch. Detroit I think would take advantage of taking on MAF and Martinez (whom I don’t see as a dump but you don’t either). The cap difference between Marchy and Tuch is minimal savings but I think if Pierrangelo were to structure his deal with an NMC and heavy front load the contract and I’d think he’d bite at 8M (since no state tax and property is cheap in Vegas).

Roseville. I knew it!

Look, it's been several days now and I just have to tell you that I am still deeply irritated that Dylan Peterson was drafted by the Blues. The kid is from Roseville and models his game on Thornton - in a perfect world he will play 4 years at BU, flip St Louis the bird, and come play in San Jose.

Yo Roseville! I know how you feel. I was very pleased that Zegras fell to 9 in last year’s draft but I was rooting hard to somehow get Cam York on his hometown team.

Just from a quick search though, Peterson went 86 OA. Sharks had a pick at 76... (?)

Yeah, if I recall correctly we traded up to get to Daniil Gushchin - which I want to be very clear I'm okay with! - but I am smarting that we weren't somehow able to get both of them because I am nothing if not a greedy **** who hates the Blues.

Y'all look like you had a damn fine draft this year. Kudos to Murray! Jacob Perreault is absolutely going to be a stud and I do NOT look forward to playing against him in the future.
