Does any Bruins fan understand this trade at all

Created by: Heyhowareya37
Team: 2020-21 Boston Bruins
Initial Creation Date: Sep. 26, 2020
Published: Sep. 26, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Chiasson PPG - .38 (2019-20)
Bjork PPG - .33 (2019-20)
Chiasson - 2.15 mil - 1year UFA
Bjork - 1.6 mil - 3 Years RFA
Bjork's EV and Defensive numbers are much better. More than half of Chiasson's points and Goals came on the PP.

The bruins do not necessarily NEED a RW, stud/coyle/(maybe even Seny) can fill that role on L3 or there are plenty of options in FA (Fast, Smith, etc) to fill that role if need be.

I get Chiasson has BOS connection and is a bigger body, but the B’s need more EV scoring, and he doesn’t seem to produce a ton 5v5.
Unless there’s other pieces/picks I don’t get it .

A great breakdown here. Everyone keeps telling me "he's gonna help on the power play" but the bruins have had an outstanding pp for the last three years, so why would they move a young, cost-controlled LW with potential, for a potential maxed, bottom-six "power play specialist". I get the fact he is bigger, but there are other and better options out there.

Doesn’t seem like a good trade for Boston. And I’m not even a big Bjork fan.

There’s been rumors from apparent trusted EDM sources and it has been floating around on here for awhile.

It's a stupid trade that shouldn't be done. But with Heinen for Ritchie, never know with Sweeney.

I’m with ya... also would make the third line Ritchie-Coyle-Chiasson. Which would probably make me lose my mind. Think they’re better off with Bjork-Coyle-Stud

Every damn time the Bruins try to get bigger they force a trade. Forced Hayes, forced Ritchie, they always seem to make an acquisition just to make one. They need to make a move or two this offseason but I hope its not this

Nope. Edmonton sportswriter started this thing. I don’t see how it makes sense at all for Boston. I’ll believe it when I see it.

Rinaldo as well... Theyre are better options in FA, or even better trade options (Anderson, Virtanen). Same here man

Yup, I think if they do move Bjork it has to be for an upgrade at W or a LHD, depending on who the B's target in Free agency
