Ok, I'm just trying to think of different idea's. It's boring to see the same thing over and over again.

Dumba is a top 3, proper top 3. If Holl is your #3 leaving dermott, sandin, marincin, etc as your 4/5/6/7 then thats's hurting.. Dumba would be a good 3 spot, holl with muzzin and a bogosian at 5 would be a massive change to your blueline in my opinion.. and thats not even big changes. Take a look at CAR roster and tell me there aren't 7 D you would want in place of Holl at #3... now thats just one team.. but i could look at a lot of other teams and pick 3+... Look at any team that made it further than the leafs and I'm sure you'll see its a trend. Again, you don't need to be defensive about him or sandin, etc. as they have more upside in time but the leafs window is closing and the problem hasn't been addressed. D depth and grit.. For others who are going to jump out thinking I'm saying the leafs need dumba to win the cup, that's NOT what I'm saying, swap the names used with "player X" if it makes you feel comfortable..

#1 - Not your buddy
#2 - Eek is better than Kerfoot defensively as a 3rd line C, and cheaper
#3 - We can easily protect 8 skaters - 1 goalie and keep all four of our guys. Given the lack of talent with our forwards, that's an easy path forward because we won't be exposing much.

Wild don't want Kerfoot... period.
