Dermott and Mikheyev will not sign that many years at that AAV.

Fast does not offer enough to be worth paying for. We need to save money there.

Just keep Holl, don't bother with Brodie and much better cap. Then just keep Andy.

Kuemper is not better than Andersen. Is it worth turning korshkov and a 1st into a second for one extra year?

Really dont understand the hype with Kuemper ( aside some "analyst" spitballed that he would be good fit )...same age as Andersen, being backup till last year and he played behind OEL, Hjalmarsson, Demers and Chychrun,....with that kind of D Andersen would be 2,15 Goalie in 60 Games....not to mention Kuemper completely faltered in only Playoffs he entered.....

To be fair Demers isn't very good and Hjalmarsson isn't great anymore.

But yeah he's a late bloomer and again shows no signs of being better than Andersen.

The reasons to trade Andersen are one of the following 2

1) an upgrade. I don't see any clearcut upgrades available besides Lehner (imo) or Holtby IF he can prove he can bounce back (I'm not willing to take that risk he's been getting worse 3 years in a row)
2) to get someone locked in longer term at a reasonable price as Andersen will be a Ufa and if he has a good season will want 6-7 million in his 30s when he is likely to be diminishing.

So Kuemper doesn't apply for #1. For #2 he gives us one more year...

My take is leave Andersen walk after this Season ( mainly because of Covid Cap situation, if 84-88M would come to fruit as it was advertised, i had him 4 x 6,5M )....he deserves more respect then a trade after all those years standing on head behind mediocre built D. If they left JvR, Bozak and Gardiner walk, so should he....

Build some decent wall in front of him and finally rest him for Playoffs now when Campbell is in the house as above average Backup being able to take over 27 Games

Get Allen next year in FA.

Not a terrible idea beyond Allen, who is likely a 1b goaltender.

I would move him if we could get perhaps Murray instead or the next Andersen. I remember when we got Andersen I wanted the Leafs to target either Andersen or Vasilevski as I figured they were both available because they had Gibson and Bishop in front of them. Clearly my eye was good. lol

I don't know that there is anyone like that in the league right now. Perhaps Murray/Jarry. Perhaps one of the NYR guys when they settle in 1-2 years on one of them. Had Vancouver signed Markstrom, I would have taken a long look at Demko...
