Disagree, I think you underestimate (along with most of the league it seems like) Raanta. You upgraded your tending and your wings. Your biggest need is that 2C spot, but it seems for whatever reason you are going to gamble on Staal

Staal was a 1C in Minnesota? Raanta is getting older and injury prone.

How do you comment on Raanta getting older and say Staal was a 1c right before without seeing the irony. Staal is 35 I believe. You never know when someone that age will drop off a cliff

Raanta is 1 year older than Markstrom and the same age as Holtby with the best save percentage of the three of them in two of the last three years.

Staal is playing a smaller role for Buffalo than he did in Minnesota. Raanta is relying on as the starter and if he isn't healthy, the season is shot.

You're not wrong re the injurything, but I can't accept your argument re age, given the comparison to Markstrom/Holtby/Andersen even

Ok sure, He's not performed in the playoffs with ARI or NYR tho.
